early month

■	Ural Owls and Short eared Owls return. They fly above the grassland and the marsh and look for the bait such as mice. (S)
■	Winter birds such as Snow Buntings and Lapland Buntings return. (S)
■	A number of Whooper Swans decreases because they move to Honsyu. (S)

■	Squirrels come to the place of bait.

■	Lake Furen and Onnetou start to freeze.

the middle of month

■	All Japanese Cranes have gone. (S)
■	Velvet Scoters, Long-tailed Ducks and Golden eyes gather to the sea. (S)

the end of month

■	A kind of gulls such as Slaty-backed Gulls, Herring Gulls, Black-tailed Gulls, Common Gulls, Glaucous-winged Gulls and Glaucous Gulls can be spotted.

■	You can see seals floating on the floats. (S)

■	Lake Furen is covered with ice, and you can walk on it.
■	Ice fishing starts at Lake Furen.
